The pet food manufacturer Josera has initiated a recall for its dog food “Meat Lovers Pure Lamb.” Affected is the 400g can with the best-before date of May 19, 2028, and the batch number 521 10000_0320. Dog owners who have the product at home should no longer feed it to their pets, as a defect has been identified.
Reason for the Recall
Initially, the portal “produktwarnung.eu” reported that Josera had not provided a specific reason for the recall despite inquiries, which was highly unsatisfactory for many dog owners and caused uncertainty.
In an update, the manufacturer finally announced that some cans of the affected batch had swollen. This swelling indicates possible errors in filling or shelf life, which are currently being investigated by experts.
Even though the exact cause has not yet been definitively clarified, the company strongly advises against continuing to use the food, as it cannot be ruled out that it may lead to health problems in the animals.

The affected product is not only available in physical stores but was also sold through various well-known online retailers. These include Zooplus, Zooroyal, bibita, Futterplatz, as well as Josera’s own online shop. Anyone who ordered there should definitely check if the cans at home belong to the mentioned batch.
